about

this is the first track I wrote for this project, which was conceived (unsurprisingly) the morning of sunday, july 27th, 2014.

this song is about a girl I used to have a huge crush on. in a dream I had, we were sitting on a dock on Lake Michigan. she turns to me and speaks in fluent Chinese, then says "you should've made a move, I can't believe I have to," then we stare at the waves and I wake up.

immediately after I woke up, I thought "holy shit! I'm gonna write a song about this!" and that eventually evolved into "I'm gonna write a summer album about my past and present experiences!"

lyrics

Sunday Morning
And freshly ended dreams
Call me frail or call me boring
But the "what ifs?" are mean

It starts with you staring at the waves with me
Contemplating if you'll even muster up the bravery
It's a world that was surely never meant to be

You told me in a tongue quite strange that things would change
You told me in a tongue quite strange that things would change

Sunday morning
And yes, I'm awake
But the thought of what we could've been
It makes me shake
